Flowers...

Well this is a first....skyping!  I have joined my sister in law Vikki skyping and stamping this afternoon and have thoroughly enjoyed it.  Today I decided to have a go at CAS(E) this sketch! CTS#73 which was also combined with Runway Inspired Challenge ric#58.  This card is really something different for me using these bright colours but I love it.  I did cheat a little to get the shape required by cutting out around the printed flowers on a designer paper I found in my stash and then coloured the flowers in with my tombow markers...which I haven't used in quite some time!  I did save face by at least stamping the sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek.

RobVikVik

My stamping friend Robyn and my sister in law who is also named Vikki and is a fellow stamper, suggested the three of us have a monthly challenge and thus the RobVikVik challenge was born!  We each get to pick one aspect of the card and this month Robyn suggested we use a stamp we haven't used in a very very long time, Vikki W (my sister in law) chose the layout and I got to choose the colours.  So...below is my card for the RobVikVik April challenge.  This flower stamp is one of the very first stamps I ever purchased and sadly I think I have only ever used it once or twice in more than ten years.....shame, shame, shame!  I enjoyed this challenge very much, once more the girls have taken me out of my comfort zone, especially by throwing a circle into the layout...thanks very much Vikki W.  Thanks for taking a peek....I look forward to seeing what the next  month may bring....Vikki.

Words....

When invited by Robyn to take a look over at Our Beautiful World and this week's theme of Words I knew immediately what I would take a photo of....this is my favourite piece of art work in my house!  We recently sold our house in Townsville and relocated to Tasmania and this was a canvas I purchased (whilst shopping with my sister in law Vikki) to hang in the entry of our house for open day.  I was immediately drawn to this canvas from across the store and initially it was because of the bright colours in the chair.  On further inspection of the canvas I loved all of the words in the chair and in the background.  The background words predominantly say "We got the good life" and some days when I look at this canvas which hangs above the dining table in our new home in Tasmania, I think to myself...we sure do.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Birthday

Taking advice from my stamping friend Robyn, yesterday I took a peek over at Inspired by Stamping at Leah's WHW#133-Color by Blocking tutorial.  After a lot of procrastinating...as usual....I combined this technique with the current layout over at Freshly Made Sketches FMS131 as I had been looking at it all week also, to make a birthday card for my hubby...just in the nick of time as his birthday is today!  I actually quite like the way this card turned out and more importantly my hubby liked it too.  Thanks for dropping by to have a look.

You brighten my day

Hi fellow stampers, well it's only been almost 6 months since I have been on my blog but hello again!  As you can see by my blog I haven't been doing a lot of stamping lately but there has been a lot going on in my life including a move to Tasmania with my hubby and my son.  Although I am enjoying the change sometimes I can feel a bit down and so I was really glad to get an email this afternoon from a stamping friend named Robyn who was introduced to me by my lovely sister in law Vikki.  The girls were inviting me to take a peek at the sketch for this week CTS#71 over at CAS(E) this sketch! so I did and here is my take on the sketch.  I thought it was only appropriate to use this sentiment as the girls had really brightened my day...thank you so much Robyn and Vikki and thank you fellow stampers for taking a peek, Vikki.
