the treasure of friendship....

I have been lucky enough to actually get two cards made today and for this, my second card, I have played along at Tuesday Morning Sketches and their sketch #285.  This is the first time I have played along with this blogspot, hopefully it won't be my last.  I really like this sketch by Melissa Craig and knew as soon as I saw it I would be playing along and even though it took a little more playing than I thought, I'm pleased I persisted.  Thanks f or taking a peek.

Happy Birthday

Well I managed to get myself organised this morning and was able to enjoy an afternoon of me time, which meant being locked away in my craft space listening to music, eating chocolate and having cups of tea delivered to me by my hubby....needless to say I had a great afternoon!  My first card for today came together really easily, which is a huge change for me.  For this card I have played along at CAS(E) this sketch! and their sketch for this week CTS#108.  The design team as always have made same great cards and as you will probably be able to tell, I took my inspiration from Hannelie and her colourful card.  As soon as I saw Hannelie's card I knew I would have to use my Happy Birthday Washi Tape to make this card.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Everything about you....

Whilst on a roll with my ideas coming together...I actually made another card on Sunday to play along with the current challenge at Freshly Made sketches FMS170 and also to play along at TIME OUT challenges and their Challenge #23 Valentine's Day With the Optional Twist of Hearts.  I was actually attempting to make a card with hearts using a totally different layout on Saturday without success, and have my sister-in-law/stamping buddy Vikki W to thank for putting me on to this layout from Freshly Made Sketches.  I also took a little bit of inspiration from the cover of one of my favourite books, "PS I LOVE YOU" which I finished rereading on Sunday morning...have lost count of the number of times I have read this book, but I'm sure it won't be the last time either...lol.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Hello...

Well, after a disastrous attempt at trying to stamp and Skype with my sister-in-law/stamping buddy Vikki W on Saturday  (I just couldn't get my mojo happening!) I am finally back to post a card that I made on Sunday.  For this card I have played along with the current sketch CTS #107 from Ali over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  I have kept this card very simple but I think with the colours of pink, black and white it is still quite effective.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Day

I have been able to make time today to finish a card I started on Tuesday to play along with Chrissy's sketch CTS#106 this week over at CAS(E) this sketch!  This card took more putting together than I firstly envisaged but after much tweaking it is finally done!  Both the stamps used and the embossing folder used for this card have come out of my stash for the first time ever...hopefully I will use them all again soon!  Thanks for taking a peek.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 294

I have never played along at WOYWW before...but there is always a first time for everything so here goes.  I have just set up a crafting area in one of the outbuildings on our property...nothing flash but I like the rustic feel and the space is all mine..lol!  My sister-in-law/stamping buddy Vikki W asked me to share some pictures so I thought what better way to do that by playing along this week with What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 294.  So...on my workdesk is the current layout from CAS(e) This Sketch and the card that I am working on to go along with it.  You can also see my container of clear stamps and the stamps and inks that I used for this layout....the card is still a work in progress but hopefully I will finish it tomorrow!  I have also included some photos of my space...some where my desk is tidy...aha..but that was before I started to play...Thanks for taking a peek.

These are the photos of my space which is a large area that we use for storage so I have commandeered a corner.  There is power to the room and I have a large fluorescent light above my desk plus two large windows that let in natural light and provide a great view of the paddocks outside.  One day down the track we will sheet the wall that you can see..

Our Beautiful World...Song Title...

It is ages since I have played along at Our Beautiful World but after taking a peek today over at the team's photos I couldn't help but play along.  This week, Week 80, Robyn has chosen the theme of  a photo that represents a song title...I have used three of my favourite photos...

Lavender Blue by Burl Ives (and many others)

Running Water by The Moody Blues

and my favourite photo....Puppy Love by Donny Osmond.
Thanks for taking a peek.

hello...

I didn't plan on stamping today...I was supposed to be tidying my craft space after playing yesterday...but when my hubby asked..."not playing today?"...he talked me into it!  My stamping mate Robyn sent me an email link yesterday to the Time Out Challenges blog and I really liked what I saw...so today that is where my play was focused.  Those who know my style (if I really have one!) will know I don't use a lot of bright colours so this was certainly a challenge for me.  This card nearly didn't make it to the completed pile but I am glad I persisted as I know a little girl having a birthday next month and I think this card might just be the ticket!  So...here is my entry for Time Out Challenges Challenge #22...thanks for taking a peek and now I am off to tidy my craft space!

B for Believe, Beauty, Butterflies & Bling...

Believe it or not I have actually made my second tag for Robyn's ABC Tag/card challenge.  I don't know how this tag materialised it just did!  I have spent the afternoon locked away in my new stamping space which is an old rustic outbuilding and I have had a ball.  With the music blaring (and the wind blowing a gale outside) I have made my B tag.  This was some pretty pink DP I found in my stash which I adhered to a small manila tag, stamped the word stamp (because it had Believe and Beauty on it) which I then masked and stamped a butterfly/background over the whole tag before then stamping the large butterfly and adding my flower and bling...I quite like this...thanks for taking a peek.

ABC....Adventure

Alright!  I am feeling very pleased with myself this afternoon as I have stepped outside my comfort zone and been making some tags.  Our stamping friend Robyn has challenged a few of us to take part in an ABC Tag/Card challenge where each fortnight we make a tag/card with a letter of the alphabet for our theme.  So...kicking off the year with the letter A I have actually made a tag and incorporated it onto a card (I have a nephew having a birthday early in February..so I'm thinking this is going to be his card!).  I actually started making this tag last Sunday after taking inspiration from my sister-in-law/stamping buddy Vikki (who is also taking part in the challenge) but it just wasn't coming together... but today it all fell into place....I chose Adventure and Aeroplane to go with the A theme...thanks for taking a peek.
